Deposit: Reservations are confirmed with a minimum of 50% deposit, in advance at booking time, depending on the season. Full payment is due 6 weeks before arrival. Room rate is non refundable.
Cancellation: Minimum of 6 weeks cancellation notice is required in order toreceive a refund of your deposit. When we can re-rent your room we will refund the full amount less $35 processing fee.We are not responsible for cancellations or delays due to weather or transportation problems. Guests are responsible for all nights booked. No shows for any reason will be charged the full amount.
Rates: Our rates are subject to change without notice. Additional guests: $15 per night. If we have availability, we will book for one night but a maid’s fee of $10 will be added.
Payment: Credit card guarantee via the website; or contact us for for options. Balance payable at check-in with cash/travelers checks. We can´t accept credit cards on Taboga (no banks or ATM´s on the island).
Banks: There are no banks or ATM’s on Taboga. The nearest ATM is on Amador Causeway, near the Wine Bar Restaurant.
Check In & Check Out: Check in is between 2 and 6 pm. Late check in by special arrangement. Check out time is 11 am. If you do not check out, we will charge an additional night. Late check out on request, at an additional charge, space permitting.
Registration & Occupancy: Register with a credit card. Only registered occupants permitted in the rooms.
Children: Children are welcome. Children 12 and under are free when staying with parents, up to the apartment or room limit. Over the limit, they must pay the additional person charge.
Tips: Please note that tips are not included in your room charges. Our husband and wife staff team work very hard to give you friendly service to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please feel free to tip them what you feel appropriate.
Continental Breakfast: A Continental Breakfast of breads, jams, coffee, tea, juice, and fruit is served between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. Hot breakfast is charged extra.
Smoking: Cerrito Tropical is a smoke free environment; we have spacious covered balconies outside for smokers.
Damage and Inventory Policy: Our registered guests are responsible for any damage or breakage resulting from the use of our facilities however caused and will be liable to the owners for cost of repairs. The apartments come furnished and items found missing from the inventory will be charged at replacement value. This includes the registered guest and members of their party. We reserve the right to bill their credit card. We are entitled at our absolute discretion to refuse to hand over to you, or repossess, the property, if we reasonably believe that any damage is likely to be caused, has been caused or is being caused by any members of your holiday party. These circumstances will be treated as a cancellation by you, and no refund will be given, and we shall have no liability to you. You must allow us, the Owners, or our representatives access to the property at any reasonable time.
Complaints
We have made every effort to ensure that your holiday is enjoyable and trouble free. If you do have a complaint or problem, it is essential that you inform us immediately, so that we may be given the opportunity to rectify and correct the situation as soon as possible. Any complaints or problems encountered during your stay, and not reported at the time, will not be considered at a later date.
Building Maintenance: there may be occasion when we need to do building maintenance or repair on water lines etc. We will notify you in advance and repair, and complete as quickly as possible. If you have a problem in your room, we will call the person to maintain or repair to come as soon as possible.
Electric and water: We are not responsible if the island power goes off, and normally this is very rare, if there is any water supply problem we have an additional source which we can use to supplement the town water. Please be careful with our water supply as it is limited to 1000 gallons. Check all running toilets and dripping taps are off.
Liability Waiver: We shall have no liability for any personal injury or death to persons on our property, or illness directly or indirectly related to the property. Or while using equipment rented or borrowed from us. "We advise before you depart your home country you take out travel and health insurance which is valid in Panama." We are not responsible for loss, damage or injury to persons or property however caused. We cannot be held responsible for loss, damage, illness, or injury caused by third parties who we recommend for their services. You must take all necessary steps to safeguard your personal property, please lock your doors when leaving or sleeping. No liability is accepted by us in respect of damage to, or loss of such personal property.

Medical & Health: Cerrito Tropical or its owners or employees assumes no liability for any such medical service or any costs related to any evacuation or provision of medical care if needed. If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability that may affect your stay, please tell us before you confirm your booking so that we can advise as to the suitability of the chosen arrangements. In any event, you must give us full details in writing at the time of booking.
Behavior: We expect all clients to have consideration for other people. If, in our reasonable opinion or in the reasonable opinion of any other person in authority, you or any member of your party behaves in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or damage to the property, impede the rights, welfare, safety or enjoyment of others or in any way damage the reputation and/or goodwill of the Owner we are entitled, without prior notice, to terminate the occupation of the person(s) concerned. In this situation, the person(s) concerned will be required to leave the accommodation. We will have no further responsibility toward such person(s). No refunds will be made and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.
Please Note: Water: We recommend not to drink tap water but drink bottled water, or previously boiled water for drinking which we will provide for you.
Internet: Is included with your own computer, but be aware there are times it goes down on the island due to low clouds when there is a storm. We cannot be held responsible for weather or the internet provider, in case they go offline for a period.
Maid service: 2x per week included: if you want daily service can offer it on request for a small extra charge.
Laundry service: Please ask for rates, we are not responsible for any damage due to your garments, or missing garments.
Meal service: Only Continental Breakfast is included, but we can organize meals on request.
DVDs, Books, Games: We have a small DVD and English book library, as well as board games which you are welcome to use, please replace everything before you leave.
A/C’s & fans: We will need you to turn off the a/c’s and fans while you are out, and so they get a chance to cool down. Fans burn out on Taboga dues to variances in electricity, so like a/c they should not be run 24 hours a day.
Take care: We are in a rural environment, where some surfaces can be uneven, slippery especially after rain or on rocks or rough surfaces. At night it can also be very dark. A flashlight can be provided on request but extra care will be needed especially at night.
Acceptance of terms & Conditions
I have read and understood these terms and conditions and undertake to abide by the same and acknowledge the right for Cerrito Tropical any measure it may take in the event of a breach of these terms and conditions.
